Due to the deprecation of Custom Gas Tokens (CGT) on OP Rollups, which were integral to our previous infrastructure, we have made the strategic decision to migrate Pepu Unchained to a new, fully secure Layer-2 solution powered by Arbitrum. This ensures long-term performance, scalability, and security for the ecosystem.

When working on this migration, it became very clear that we also needed to launch an entirely new $PEPU token. Which is what we have done to ensure the future security and flexibility of the Pepe Unchained project.

A snapshot of all token holders on both L1 and L2 has been taken. Every single holder, regardless if you are staked, migrated, or sitting on the previous Pepe Unchained Layer 2–will be airdropped their new $PEPU tokens 1:1 to their wallet address on the Ethereum Network Layer 1 (dates below). The first airdrop will take place today, May 28th 2025, at 12PM UTC.

Liquidity for the old $PEPU token has been removed, and is now transferred to the new $PEPU token liquidity pool. This liquidity pool has also been locked.

To ensure a smooth migration and to maintain liquidity in the new ecosystem:

• Unlocking Existing Liquidity: Since liquidity was locked, $PEPU tokens have been liquidated to release the locked liquidity.

• Seeding New Liquidity Pool: Funds obtained from the sale have been utilized to establish and seed the new $PEPU liquidity pool. Which has now been locked.

This approach allows us to efficiently transfer liquidity to the new token pool, ensuring stability, and precise continuity for our users.

Those who have been holding $PEPU on any of the centralized exchanges on which $PEPU is available, you may have noticed that trading has been halted. This has been done by these exchanges to facilitate a 1:1 swap of the old $PEPU token, for the new $PEPU token. All Pepu holders, regardless of where they choose to hold, or trade, will receive their new $PEPU as promptly as possible.

Trading on these exchanges will resume shortly, and will be at the discretion of the exchanges themselves, who have assured us a smooth transition. At that time, your tokens will have been swapped 1:1 for the new $PEPU token. You do not need to take any action whatsoever, this process will occur automatically.

In the coming days, using the new $PEPU as the custom gas token, the all new Pepe Unchained layer 2 will be deployed - powered by Arbitrum. Arbitrum has truly welcomed us with open arms and made the transition to our new home as seamless as possible. We truly believe this new chain, and new token, gives our beloved project the best possible chance at future growth and success.

Within a few days of the launch of the all new Layer 2, the Pump Pad will once again be live–completely re-optimized for better performance with all of the bug fixes and updates discussed previously. We can’t wait to open up the arcade once again so our awesome community can proceed to PUMP IT.

Some of you will have noticed that along with the new token we have increased supply. With the enormous success of the recent staking bonus program, we feel that rewarding our loyal community members with a more robust staking program is appropriate. The Pepe Unchained community loves their staking rewards, and we intend to massively grow the staking program, and develop staking incentives that not only help secure our ecosystem, but reward our holders.

During this exciting, and sometimes turbulent time, it has been you the community that have continued to contribute your positivity and energy to the overall success of Pepe Unchained. Now, we have an opportunity to build upon a stable foundation. This is huge, and we’re thrilled to take this next step with you all.

Snapshots Completed: A complete snapshot of all Pepu balances, including staked and unstaked tokens, on both L1 and L2, has been taken to facilitate the migration and ensure fair airdrop distributions.

Staking Rewards: Users who had staked their tokens will receive both their original stake and any accrued rewards to their wallet on the Ethereum Mainnet.

A dedicated bridge will launch alongside the new chain, or shortly thereafter, enabling holders to transfer tokens into the new ecosystem.
